An Industry 4.0 Intelligent Decision Support System for Analytical Laboratories

This paper presents an Intelligent Decision Support System (IDSS) to enhance the management of Analytical Laboratories (AL) a company operating in chemical industry. IDSS incorporates two predictive Machine Learning (ML) models, related with prediction arrival samples at AL and consumption materials, which are then used perform prescriptive analytics for instrument allocation tasks. The is also complemented descriptive similarities regarding tests performed better supporting manager decisions. includes interactive dashboards it was successfully validated by managers using Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) 3 open interviews, resulted positive feedback.
